We recruit across Canada, the United States and Mexico City. Our strongest presence is in Canada, including cities like Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa, Edmonton, and Halifax. In the U.S., we support firms in key design hubs like New York City and the Boston area. We also work with select clients in Mexico City.
-
Most of the roles we work on require candidates to already be legally eligible to work in Canada, the U.S., or Mexico. While we welcome internationally trained professionals, we currently do not support relocation roles or provide immigration assistance. If you’re already based in one of our core markets and meet the job requirements, we encourage you to apply.
-
It depends on the firm and region. In Canada and the U.S., hybrid roles are increasingly common, especially in cities like Toronto, Vancouver, and NYC. Some firms still prefer in-person, particularly for design collaboration. We'll always clarify this upfront during the hiring process.

Our fee structure is designed to be straightforward and transparent, reflecting the value we bring to your recruitment process. Here's an overview:
1. Contingency-Based Fees
- We operate primarily on a contingency model, meaning you only pay when we successfully place a candidate in your organization. Invoices are sent on the first day the candidate starts their job.
2. Percentage of Annual Salary
- Our fee is calculated as a percentage of the successful candidate’s first-year annual base salary.
3. Customizable Agreements
- For specialized roles, multiple hires, or ongoing recruitment partnerships, we are happy to discuss tailored fee agreements to suit your firm's needs.
4. Replacement Guarantee
- To ensure your satisfaction, we offer a replacement guarantee within a specified time frame if the candidate doesn’t meet expectations or leaves the role, subject to terms outlined in our agreement.

-
We primarily recruit across Canada, with a strong focus in cities like Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa, and Calgary, and other urban centres. We've also supported clients in the United States, particularly in New York City and the Boston area, and have worked selectively with firms in Mexico City.
While much of our work is in larger cities, we’ve also supported firms in mid-sized markets and regional hubs across Canada, such as Waterloo, Kingston, Victoria, Halifax, and Edmonton - especially when the role aligns with our expertise in architecture, planning, and design.
-
Yes, we've conducted several confidential searches for architecture, engineering, construction, and design firms across Canada. Whether you're privately replacing an existing team member, exploring a leadership hire, or expanding quietly into a new market, we ensure full discretion throughout the hiring process.
Here’s how we manage confidential searches for employers:
No Public Job Ads: We do not post the position on job boards or social media unless you request it. All outreach is handled privately through our curated network and direct candidate sourcing.
Anonymized Employer Branding: Early communication with candidates is kept company-agnostic. We present the opportunity using high-level descriptors (e.g., project types, firm size, region, design culture) until candidates are qualified and express genuine interest.
Non-Disclosure Agreements (Optional): If added protection is needed, we can require signed NDAs before disclosing your company name or any sensitive information. Some of our clients request this for executive or replacement searches.
Discreet Candidate Vetting: Candidates are screened not just for qualifications but also for discretion, emotional intelligence, and cultural alignment. We clearly communicate confidentiality expectations before any interviews take place.
Controlled Narrative: We do not disclose details about internal transitions, leadership changes, or why the role is open unless you’ve explicitly authorized it.
Flexible and Employer-Led: The process is built around your timeline, goals, and risk level. Whether you’re urgently hiring or assessing market interest, we’ll guide you without compromising privacy.
We try to follow these standards for all our searches not just confidential ones. Whether a role is posted publicly or kept private, we treat your information with care. We never share your company name, documents, or candidate feedback without your permission. Protecting your brand, your team, and your long-term hiring goals is central to how we operate.
Confidential search is not just a service, it’s part of our values.
-
That’s completely okay! Many of our clients work with a recruiter for the first time when they realize they need more focused support or don’t have the time to manage a search properly. Our job is to make the hiring process more strategic, efficient, and aligned with your goals whether you're a small firm making your first Canadian hire or a larger practice entering a new market.
Here’s how it works:
We start with a call to understand your firm, what you’re building, and who you need.
We provide insight on salary expectations, market trends, and role clarity to help you build internal confidence and long-term hiring capability.
We handle all outreach, screening, and shortlisting. You only meet vetted candidates aligned with your technical and cultural needs.
We stay hands-on. From market insights to interview support, we guide you through the entire process.
Example:
We recently worked with a European structural engineering firm with offices in the UK and Denmark, looking to build a presence in Toronto. It was their first time hiring in Canada, and they needed support navigating local salary benchmarks, understanding the talent pool, and positioning the role for long-term growth. We took the time to understand their global practice, worked with them to understand local market expectations, and introduced candidates who could align with both their technical standards and leadership goals. Their first Canadian hire is now playing a key role in expanding their team and delivering projects in the region.Recruitment doesn’t have to be transactional. We treat it like a partnership. If you’ve never worked with a recruiter before, we’ll guide you through it step by step.
-
Yes, we partner with small studios, startups, and emerging firms across Canada. Whether you're making your first hire or scaling a lean team, we understand that smaller firms need flexible, high-impact support without unnecessary overhead.
Our process is tailored to your size and stage:
We help clarify your hiring needs based on your current team structure, pipeline, and long-term goals.
We provide insights into salary expectations, local talent availability, and role scoping - especially valuable if you’re hiring in a competitive market or for the first time.
We manage outreach, screening, and shortlisting so you can stay focused on projects while we bring you the right candidates.
We also offer a reduced fee structure for small firms to help make quality recruitment support more accessible during those early growth stages.
We see ourselves as an extension of your team - we want to help you grow and hope to grow with you.
