Description of the Company
An Ottawa-based residential developer and custom home builder with a strong track record across wood-frame multifamily, infill, and luxury residential projects. Known for quality craftsmanship, LEED-certified builds, and a hands-on approach to development, this team operates at the intersection of design, construction, and investment. They work on a curated portfolio of projects simultaneously, ensuring focused attention on each build from architectural drawings through to interior finishes.
Why this Role is Open
The company is growing its in-house architectural capacity to bring permit drawing production and design development fully under one roof, reducing reliance on external consultants and tightening control over project timelines and quality.

Develop complete permit CD sets including site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, and construction details using Revit.
Prepare site plans for multi-building infill and small tract multifamily developments.
Produce and manage design drawings across all phases: SD, DD, and CD.
Ensure all drawings meet Ontario Building Code requirements and are permit-ready.
Liaise with the development team to align architectural drawings with budget, schedule, and construction methodology.

Demonstrated experience delivering full DD to CD sets issued for permit (permit CDs required as evidence).
Has prepared site plans with multiple buildings for infill or tract multifamily projects (plans and addresses required).
OAA licensed and holds a Certificate of Practice (CoP), or is eligible and actively open to obtaining one.
Produces design drawings across all phases: schematic design, preliminary layouts, conceptual massing, floor plans, and elevations.
Strong working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code.
Ability to work fully independently - no mentoring or ramp-up time required.
Deeply skilled in Revit for working drawings and permit sets.
Nice-to-haves
Coordination-level knowledge of structural wood systems and mass timber.
Familiarity with volumetric modular construction principles.
Understanding of construction principles, cost considerations, and value engineering from a developer's perspective.
