Senior Landscape Architect

Location: Dundas, Ontario

Full Time, On-Site

Compensation: $120,000-$160,000 + 4 weeks vacation

Our client is a well-established full-service landscape architecture firm with offices in Ohio and Ontario, specializing in residential, estate, and therapeutic landscapes. With a diverse portfolio spanning the U.S. and Canada, including therapeutic gardens, estate master plans, and native landscape restoration, they serve healthcare organizations, governmental agencies, academic institutions, and private individuals.

Nationally and internationally recognized, the firm has received awards from leading U.S. and Canadian industry associations and has been featured in major professional and shelter publications.

Why this Role is Open

The firm is expanding and needs to grow their team to adjust for an increased number and scope of projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects with minimal supervision, managing all phases from research and concept development through to final recommendations, reports, and contract documents

  • Oversee contract administration including site supervision, progress reports, invoicing, change orders, and payment certificates across all project scales

  • Manage project budgets, track progress, and prepare monthly billing and expenses

  • Mentor and supervise Intermediate and Junior Landscape Architects, participating in interviews, staff reviews, and salary negotiations

  • Prepare finished specifications and develop comprehensive graphic solutions in line with approved office standards

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities while reporting directly to clients

Must-haves

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Landscape Architect

  • Proven experience managing landscape architecture projects independently (design and/or planning)

  • Strong contract administration and project management skills

  • Experience mentoring junior staff

  • Proficiency in graphic techniques and documentation

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience identifying and pursuing new business development opportunities

  • Familiarity with office administration and process improvement

  • Experience with a range of project scales and typologies
